12 Positive Affirmations for Anxiety

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health condition in our country, impacting 40 million Americans.  About a third of adults will struggle with anxiety at some point in their life. With that kind of statistics, it’s best to have some tools on hand to help combat temporary bouts of anxiety.  

Anxiety is a big tent covering many emotions, like overwhelm, over-stimulated, worry, fear, stress, and panic. These emotions then impact our physical systems, causing a racing pulse, increases in blood pressure, crying, and feeling stuck or frozen.  

The first thing I recommend to my clients feeling overwhelmed is to get in the water.

Water shifts energy and helps move these feelings through you instead of getting stuck in or around your body.  Shower or sit in a tub of water; add Epson salt and a little Serenity or Balance essential oil.  

The next thing I do when feeling anxious is to ask my body if these feelings are even mine.

You might be surprised that you are caring and holding onto emotions that are not even yours.  If you find this to be true, thank your body and ask all these feelings to move on to their higher potential.  I know this might sound crazy… and yet I have done this and within minutes, I’ve been able to move from an anxiety attack to baseline emotions.  

Try playing calming or uplifting music, eating good food, and taking vitamin supplements

Omega 3, Vit D, Magnesium, and Adaptiv or Serenity capsules are known to help with anxiety. Water with salt and electrolytes are a few other things I like to try when feeling anxious. 

The last thing is to acknowledge the feelings and use these powerful positive affirmations to help rewire your brain for higher vibrations, thoughts, and feelings. 

Here Are My Top 12 Positive Affirmations for Combating Occasional Anxiety.

While you may use these as you see fit, I do recommend using EFT, also known as tapping.  If you don’t know how to do this, click and follow along… My favorite tapping video for anxiety is this one here.

  1. I AM SAFE.
  2. I AM LOOKING AT (FILL IN THE BLANK)
  3. I AM SITTING (FILL IN THE BLANK.)
  4. I SMELL (FILL IN THE BLANK.)
  5. I AM TOUCHING (FILL IN THE BLANK.)
  6. I HEAR (FILL IN THE BLANK.) 
  7. AS I SIT ON THE FLOOR, LOOKING AT THE RUBBER DUCK, I CAN SMELL THE ESSENTIAL OILS I PUT ON, I HEAR THE WATER RUNNING IN THE TUB, AND I AM TOUCH THE COLD GROUND…. I AM FULLY PRESENT.  REPEAT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT PRESENT. 
  8. BIG DEEP BREATHES…. AS I TAKE BIG DEEP BREATHES I CALL MY SPIRIT AND MY BODY BACK TOGETHER.  I AM WHOLE
  9. IN JESUS NAME, I CALL ALL MY ENERGY AND POWER BACK FROM ANYONE, ANY ENITIEY AND ANY (FILL IN THE BLANK) THAT HAS EVER TAKING IT FREELY OR THAT I HAVE GIVING IT TO.
